    Desertnighters,

It's tonight - wow, hasn't that caught up with us quickly?

Below is the proposed convoy numbering (if everyone turns up).  @bony raphi @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ @Fabiano Morais @M.Seidam @Ehab @Shaaz Sha @Nithin Vaidir @Thomas Varghese @Islam Soliman

On arrival, please deflate, flag up and we will do our briefing in the vehicles so as not to disturb the residents too much or any prayers still going on at the mosque.

As you see, we have the wonderful privilege of there being truly experienced drivers ahead of the less experienced. Tonight, Mohamed Seidam will officially be taking on Centre Forward responsibilities under supervision of myself and Islam.

We will give everyone time to recover from refusals if their car stops moving where it should not, and guidance will be offered to help drivers to 'unstuck' their car themselves. If a driver is actually stuck - we will not have 8 captains on the drive. Please, it's over to Mohamed, Islam and myself to deal with the stucks.

Night driving requires precision. It also requires the convoy to keep in close contact with each other so no-one gets lost, so the intermediates here, please treat the Newbies and Fewbies like your students. Help them by lighting the way, or showing them the route and supporting them through the night.

COVID does not stop at night, so normal COVID rules will apply.

Looking forward to seeing everyone later and a fun drive tonight.

See you soon in the sand.

Hi Richard, i am Fewbie :)

    looking forward seeing you

    Hi Ehab,

If everyone is at Fewbie level it can be considered, however, I am rather disappointed that you do not believe that even at newbie level my leading would not make the trip the perfect start for the weekend. 😉

I am sure it will be even if its an absolute newbie😄 , I was in your convoy for the first night trip this season, it was amazing, looking forward following your lead again.

You widened the stance because you lifted the car or for what reason?

Another  option to try would be to keep going up from 9 to 9.5 and then 10 or 10.5 and further till you find that sweet spot when you will not have a pop out.

But always avoid sharp turns, coming down a slip side fast, bumps , aggressive criss crossing and fighting gravity .

    Yes, 2” lift kit

The pop out happened with 12 psi in both cases, i tried 15 all was good.

i am in your convey tonight, lets discuss and see what we should do.

A question, is your new rim width the same as the stock one? If the width is more that could be a reason for more frequent pop outs?

Generally pop outs are quite rare in BFG due to their thick side walls. I would recommend trying to analyse under what circumstances are you having a popout, crisscrossing aggressively, fighting gravity, sharp turns or hitting bumps more frequently.

If you get your tyre cleaned that should be fine. Rebalancing is not needed everytime unless you have lost the weights

its same size 17” but slightly wider, check below picture. I asked prior fixing it and the shop told me its a perfect fit.

Not very sharp turns, but yes both happened after turning.

  6. Hi all, is it ok to face frequent pop-outs? What impact it has on the tire and rim?

I had my stock rims installed with a spacer and BFG tires for more than 3 months, i used to go down to 9 psi with no issues what so ever.

I replaced the rims with KMC rims which has -12 offset in addition to the spacer i already have and faced 2 pop-outs in specific wheel in less than 1 month, is this normal?

Usually i get the tire cleaned from inside and rebalanced after each pop-out, do you recommend anything else to be done?

I am sorry I don't have GoPro.. Guys if any body has it would be great to bring it and we could fix it in the last Car. Later I can get the video edited in smaller clips. When it comes to the specific Dunes where we do it individual we can record and share....Just to capture some funny and memorable moments.

I have a GoPro and usually bring it with me, later i upload the video to You tube due to size restrictions on Carnity gallery.
Happy to be the second last car @Emmanuel or last car even and capture the whole trip, i have spare batteries to cover the whole trip.
