I’m noticing a lot of moisture coming from my air compressor (Mean Mother). I’m wondering if that’s normal or is there maintenance of some sort that I’m not aware of? Thanks :)

As long as it is inflating properly in time , as before it should be fine.

Make sure you rest it after inflating 4 tires at a time , I would prefer to do two at a time and give a break.

Meanmother recommends to use the remote as much as possible to switch on and off ( as advised by the service person) to avoid damages to the switch  on the compressor which is a bit flimsy. Keep the original bill/ receipt handy just in case you need to claim your warranty.

As the rookie in the mighty Saluki team, I felt it was my role to "just dont get stuck, don't let the team down, JUST DONT GET STUCK WARREN!" so I was running at a nervous number 3 behind @Chaitanya D and @Anoop Nair with mighty @Matt.Tand the esteemed @Hisham Masaad right behind me! It was with some relief that the ace navigation at the rear with sure handed lead at the front allowed me an enjoyable if thoroughly challenging route through the challenging dunes at the start of our reversed trip. It was great fun to pick pocket the dunes and not let the team down other than a go around refusal and a reverse out self recovery which ended up being my only contributions to the delay which allowed @Wrangeldto claim the trophy from us. The day was fantastic fun and I want to congratulate the Carnity team that conceptualised and organised the event and ran it in such a light handed and fun way. BRAVO! Favourite part of the day? the hot run across the sabkha featuring speeds I have never before achieved on the sand... Baja 1000 next year anybody? The Gadjero arrived home, hot, tired but undamaged and with spirits high, ready for next year? HELL YES

Thanks @Warren Flay for your feedback. You were never a rookie , but in fact when I discussed with Hisham I was sure about your driving skills . Of course I remember how beautifully you did a self recovery from a nasty side stuck in a pocket situation- if I am not wrong at Yahar. From there , to how you drove yesterday in almost a super tight technical challenge - awesome 👏.

Yea the Baja racing on the sabkhas was something to do to make up for the extra long technical route I took 🤪

@Wrangeld since morning today, @Jeepie has  reminded me countless time that  I voted for your team not hers (and ours). And after your success, Its been clear that major reason for success wasn't your experience but my vote

Whatever @varunmehndiratta; as a convoy routine we were bundled up betweeen @Wrangeldas lead and @Jeepieas sweep.  Great to see everyone’s enthusiasm, in a area which is a test of your tolerance, maneuverability, communication, compliance and improvisation.

    Awesome 👏

Desert Champions Trophy - Final action plan

Meeting time: 06:00 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions)

    Meeting Point: https://goo.gl/maps/SCJYQgPb6VH2iSqq6

    • Arrive and deflate
    • Place vehicle stickers
    • Three stickers for each car
      • Two on rear side glass window (left and right)
      • One on backglass screen on the passenger side (top)

Starting Point: To be sent to trip lead at 6:00 AM, 19 Nov 2021.

Convoy ordering: Once you arrive at the starting point, line up cars as per your team numbers.

Car recording: All car photos and videos will be taken from all sides to verify any damage.

Waypoints distribution: Each team will have 30 minutes from receiving the waypoints to start their drive. All waypoints will be given in printed sheets and through WhatsApp to the trip lead only.

Radio: Channel 1 will be used for all event coordination. Each team can choose use their channel number and announce.

Time Record: Once the team crosses through the two tall flags their time starts and when the whole team returns through the same tall flags, their timing stops. Whichever team completes in the shortest amount of time, will win.

Waypoints approach: There will be 5 waypoints that each team and team member needs to visit and make a circle to mark on the GPS track. Any break in the track of any member log will disqualify the whole team. 5-10 meter variance is acceptable for factoring in the GPS and devices anomalies. After completing those 5 waypoints, each team needs to return to the starting point and pass through the same tall flags to stop their timer.

Time lag: Each team will leave after 5 minutes of the gap to avoid crowding on the first waypoints.

Location sharing: Each team lead needs to share the WhatsApp live location for 8 hours, so we can monitor the progress for safety and verification purposes. The team lead can appoint another team member to share the live location for saving the battery or device usage.

Support team and Backup leads: Two sets of backup leads (4 cars) will be positioned on two different waypoints.

Reporting breakdown: Any car breakdown, mechanical failure or accident need to be reported to any crew immediately, so that we can mobilize the nearest support.

    • Gaurav - 050 5258706
    • Srikumar - 055 9567471
    • Frederic - 056 5042632

Refreshments: Breakfast and beverages will be served after each team returns.

P.S. Bring your camping chairs, umbrellas, canopy (if you have) as you might have to wait until all team finishes.

would just like to add that I appreciate what we all have here. Carnity is not just a club, it is a community where I personally feel geniuenly welcome

@Batuhan Kulac thanks for the appreciation and welcome back after a gap. With the G , you are bringing your best skills (great to see how you have progressed)with it which makes it even more envious for all in the convoy. As @Zed mentioned I tried my best to get you into a situation to make use of the three lockers , but probably another time 😜🤣

Thank you Dr. @Chaitanya D for last afternoon + semi-night drive. Well I only manage to break one side of rear bumper, so either I'm lucky or just getting better 😁

Started off with a warm-up of safari-style offroading, sighteeing the beautiful Qudra area, then *ehm *cough circling some Instagram celebrities, continuing to pick-up Charlie for a no-man-left-behind-even-though-he's-late camaraderie 👍 😄

@Hisham Masaad led the pre-sunset drives very well, lots of ups-and-downs and some technical soft dunes. So soft that once my Y62 tank passed an uphill, it left @Zixuan Huang - Charlie stuck for a bit 😂

The duo Dr. Chaitanya & co-pilot @M.Seidam then continued the post-sunset drive. M. Seidam managed to get his car uphill to escape the narrow bowl, while Hisham took the backdoor approach, and amazingly @Batuhan Kulac refused to get stuck in the same bowl by the mighty power of his V8... I wonder when I can see you use the Triple Locking feature of that G-Wagon? 😁

It was easy driving behind @Russ with his Raptor, all I have to do is observe when his car tailfish or struggle a bit, that means I need to take a shortcut and drive low instead of forcing to climb... as @GauravSoni would have put it, "Save your bumper man!😂

@Pacific it was nice seeing you again man, and coincidentally in another afternoon-turned-night drive 😄

@Rawad bro everytime you park your car, the cooling fan is louder than your V8 engine 😂 Good to see another Y62, and I can see the rear bumper trimming + skid plate protection working as advertised. Gonna go to that garage next week to make the mall-crawler into a just-in-case-needs-to-go-to-Liwa-for-camping desert cruiser 😃

@Zed your enthusiasm and energy to come all the way from Abu Dhabi for a weekday drive and enjoy is commendable. From my Newbie days, and the time we drove together it has been a pleasure to have you. Well done
